The 18100 utilizes patent pending technology that incorporates a tenacious pivoting action with durable forged alloy steel construction, which not only increases the effective pressing force of the tool but also lowers the operating weight down to approximately 25 pounds. The design also provides a large amount of clearance between the frame, pivot link and cups thus enabling the technician to remove and replace ball joints while the steering knuckles are attached to the vehicle. This makes the 18100 extremely versatile and helps technicians save time during front end service work, including when the truck is on the alignment rack and it is determined that the vehicle needs new ball joints to perform the proper alignment. This is not only a time saving tool, it has also proven to remove extremely stubborn ball joints from Ford and Dodge pickups.
